How do you make your ceramics?
My work is all made by hand, predominantly slab-built, coiled or made using press moulds and I use a variety of stoneware clays depending on the effect I am looking to create. Once each piece has had its first firing in the kiln, I hand-paint on my designs using combination of underglazes and stoneware glazes, often using a wax resist technique. Due to the nature of the way I work, no two pieces are the same and I embrace the individual quirks that result from each piece being handcrafted in this way.

My favourite piece is out of stock - will you be making more?
I am always working on new pieces behind the scenes and will aim to re-stock most items. I will add these in batches every few months, so do keep an eye out and follow me on instagram for more details on when new work will be uploaded!

Are they dishwasher safe?
Nearly all of my pieces are, yes! If they have a raw clay edge I would recommend hand-washing, but for the majority, I wanted to create a collection that would both add some colour and pattern to your table, but also be practical for every day use. I've also designed my plates with a lip which makes them great for all ages! I do not recommend lamps going in the dishwasher.

Sustainability
I work from a shared community studio in South East London, where there is a real emphasis on being as sustainable as possible (group firings, reclaiming clay, re-using packaging). Bearing in mind the fragile nature of my work and need to package well to survive in the shipping, I'm using as much recyclable packing material as possible as well as re-purposing boxes and packing materials where I can.
